American Founders Bank is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to provide excellent service to clients regarding daily transactions, addressing inquiries and problem resolution.  Receive and pay out money, and keep records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions.  The Experienced Bank Teller will be responsible for initiating the sales process, as well as refer clients to the proper branch associate for appropriate product and/or service. This position will be located in Louisville.

The hours for this position will range from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. This position does not require weekend shifts!

  • Provide "above and beyond experience" with clients that will differentiate us from the rest of our competition by giving consistent client service at the highest level.
  • Develop client relationships by getting to know each bank visitor, always asking to help and being responsive in regards to problem resolution.
  • Refer concerns that are outside of area of expertise to Supervisor for resolution.
  • Execute daily office operations by working with Retail Manager.
  • Keep balancing record that is aligned with bank policy and be able to find and correct outages.
  • Conduct client business in a professional manner and keep client business confidential. 
  • Meet or exceed sales referral targets as set by Retail Manager.
  • Improve knowledge on products/services to increase production.
  • Develop dialogue with clients in order to find or create needs.  When needs are found, refer client to the appropriate associate to fill the needs.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures as member of retail staff as needed.
  • Keep up to date on and adhere to all bank procedures, regulations (state and federal) and internal policies, including but not limited to BSA to ensure the safety and soundness of the bank and customers.
  • Participate in on going compliance and security training; on-line bank training program and any types of employee training offered.



The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Previous banking experience, 2 years preferred.
  • Sales experience is preferred.
  • Math functions that evolve from extensive cash handling.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional image to the public and clients.
  • Ability to develop conversation with the public confidently.
  • Communicate professionally in verbal, written and electronic form.
  • Conflict and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to establish productive business interpersonal relationships with others inside and outside the organization and to work with little direct supervision in carrying out the responsibilities assigned.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to operate standard business equipment: fax, copiers, printers, calculators, computers, etc.
  • Ability to handle sensitive documents or other confidential information. 
  • Must have attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and deal tactfully with customers.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience, cash handling, and working knowledge of bank products and services is preferred.


Education and/or Experience

  • 2+ years' prior experience in banking with similar job expectations.
  • High school education or more. 
  • 2+ years' cash handling experience and customer service experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of bank products and services.
