American Founders Bank is seeking a part-time (20-24 hours/week) Customer Service Representative to provide excellent customer service to clients regarding daily transactions, addressing inquiries and problem resolution.  This position will receive and pay out money, and keep records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions.  The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for initiating the sales process, as well as referring clients to the proper branch associate for appropriate product and/or service.

  • Provide "above and beyond experience" with clients that will differentiate us from the rest of our competition by giving consistent client service at the highest level.
  • Develop client relationships by getting to know each bank visitor, always asking to help and being responsive in regards to problem resolution.
  • Refer concerns that are outside of area of expertise to Supervisor for resolution.
  • Execute daily office operations by working with Customer Service Manager.
  • Keep balancing record that is aligned with bank policy and be able to find and correct outages.
  • Conduct client business in a professional manner and keep client business confidential. 
  • Meet or exceed sales referral targets as set by Customer Service Manager.
  • Improve knowledge on products/services to increase production.
  • Develop dialogue with clients in order to find or create needs.  When needs are found, refer client to the appropriate associate to fill the needs.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures as member of retail staff as needed.
  • Keep up to date on and adhere to all bank procedures, regulations (state and federal) and internal policies, including but not limited to BSA to ensure the safety and soundness of the bank and customers.
  • Participate in on going compliance and security training; on-line bank training program and any types of employee training offered.

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Internet Explorer.
  • Must have flexibility in working schedule; may be required to work weekends and/or extended hours. Reliable attendance is critical.
  • Ability to operate standard business equipment: fax, copiers, printers, calculators, computers, etc.
  • Ability to handle sensitive documents or other confidential information. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure. 
  • Ability to perform multiple job functions and tasks with minimum supervision. 
  • Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of employees, officers, and directors. 
  • Must have attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and deal tactfully with customers.
  • Customer service experience, cash handling, and working knowledge of bank products and services is preferred.


  • High school education or equivalent.
